From this investigation, it can be deduced that better vegetative propagation of black pepper from leafless hardwood cuttings can be attained when basal cuttings were taken from actively growing stock plant and grown in 1:1 mixture of Fine sand:Forest soil and 1:1:1 mixture of Fine sand:Forest soil: Partially decomposed coffee husk.

Currently the author is an Associate Researcher and director of Teppi National Spices Research Centre. He has got a BSc in Plant Plant Science and MSc in Horticulture. He was an instructor at Asella ATVET College from 2000 to 2001 GC. Since Dec., 2001 GC he joined the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research.
